Stephen Furlong

Survivor Pantoum

I spent my days trying to understand

why you did what you did–

All I wanted was a helping hand.

I was just a little kid.

Why? You did what you did

and I stumbled through life,

I was just a little kid,

trying to make it right.

And I stumbled through life.

All I wanted was a helping hand,

trying to make it right.

I spent my days trying to understand.

Stephen Furlong recently moved back to his hometown in upstate New York after a ten-year stint in the Midwest. The author of the poetry chapbook What Loss Taught Me (Nostrovia! Press, 2018), he currently serves as a Founding Chapbook Editor for the Garden Party Collective.
